Job summary

Northeastern Illinois University seeks an Assistant Dean of Students for Undocumented Student Resources and Student Care to provide comprehensive student support and leadership. This role splits focus between student care and case management, coordinating interventions with faculty, staff, families, and community partners to promote resilience and success.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree required in a related field.
• Minimum of five years of professional experience with college students.
• Understanding of needs of diverse student populations including undocumented students.
• Knowledge of FERPA, Title IX, VAWA, Clery Act and due process in higher education.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgment.
• Experience in educational program development, planning, implementation and assessment.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct student support and act as a case manager for students facing complex challenges.
• Lead Undocumented Student Resources and advocate for equitable access to resources.
• Coordinate services with campus partners and community organizations.
• Develop and implement short- and long-term care plans for student success.
• Oversee the Advocacy Resources Center and promote coaching and mentorship.
• Contribute to internal communications and division publications.
