Job summary

The University of New England in Maine seeks an Assistant Dean for Clinical Education to lead the academic and administrative oversight of the College of Osteopathic Medicine's clinical campus network, ensuring high-quality learning for third- and fourth-year students.

The ADCE builds relationships with clinical sites, supports placements, leads curriculum and faculty development, and represents COM to partners and committees, with travel to sites and ongoing accreditation and strategic planning.

Qualifications

• Excellent oral and written communication and problem‑solving skills.
• Experience with community-based, geographically dispersed clinical training.
• Demonstrated ability to be flexible, creative, and resourceful under pressure.
• Willingness to travel to core clinical sites 1–2 days per week across 20–40 weeks per year.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary representative of the College of Osteopathic Medicine at professional functions and during clinical site visits.
• Build and sustain strong relationships with clinical partners to support placements and develop new sites.
• Conduct regular site visits and support site recruitment, onboarding, and management.
• Oversee academic programs, course director roles, and rotations across COM sites.
• Collaborate on strategic planning, accreditation, and curriculum development initiatives.
