Job summary

Midwestern University’s Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine (AZCOM) seeks an Associate Dean for Academic Affairs to oversee didactic and clinical education, reporting to the AZCOM Dean. The role spans teaching, research, service, and administration and requires a Ph.D. or D.O.

from an accredited college. The Associate Dean will ensure current knowledge in medical education, coordinate assessment, curriculum development, residency placement data, and faculty development.

Qualifications

• Requires Ph.D. or D.O. from an accredited college and demonstrated leadership in medical education.
• Proven experience in teaching and academic leadership in medical education.

Responsibilities

• Teaching: provide faculty development and participate in teaching students in area of expertise; review COMLEX performance and remediation; provide performance data to Curriculum Committee.
• Research & Scholarly Activity: mentor clinical faculty in educational research and supervise student research projects.
• Service: participate in university/college committees, admissions interviews, orientation, and graduation planning.
• Administration: supervise faculty/staff, advise on promotion, manage department budget, update catalogs/websites, and support accreditation efforts.
