Shrewsbury is home to approximately 10,000 residents over the age of sixty, and the Council on Aging plays a central role in supporting this important and growing population through advocacy, engagement, and responsive services.

What You’ll Do
  • Support strategic planning, policy development, and community needs assessments.
  • Supervise, mentor, and motivate staff and volunteers to foster a high-performing and welcoming environment.
  • Lead programming and engagement initiatives for older adults and their families, including partnerships with local organizations.
  • Represent Shrewsbury in state and regional coalitions, networks, and events.

  • Serve as the lead for Senior Center payroll, accounts payable (AP), and invoice processing.
  • Contribute to budget development, reporting, and program evaluation.
  • Provide direct support services, information, and advocacy for older residents and caregivers.
Who You Are
  • A bachelor’s degree in Public or Business Administration, Social Services, Gerontology, or a related field with 1–3 years of relevant experience, including supervisory and program management responsibilities, or any combination of education and experience.
  • Exceptional communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfort with digital tools including Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and website management platforms.
  • A deep commitment to public service and the ability to engage with older adults and their families with empathy and professionalism.
