Job summary

The Andersons in Maumee, Ohio, is seeking a Senior Accounting leader to direct accounting operations and ensure timely, accurate financial disclosures. This role reports to the Vice President, Corporate Controller & Investor Relations and partners with business units globally.

You will develop accounting policies, lead technical accounting, manage close processes, oversee external reporting, support investor relations, and drive internal controls while shaping the team and budgeting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree is required; a Master's degree is preferred.
• 7–10 years of relevant experience.
• CPA certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Develop standard accounting policies, document policies and communicate changes and interpretations.
• Lead technical accounting efforts, working closely with business unit accounting teams.
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close processes.
• Lead all internal and external financial reporting. Ensure financial statements and filings are in compliance with GAAP and SEC regulations, working closely with outside securities counsel and auditors to complete.
• Support investor relations on external financial messaging.
• Provide or assist in ad hoc analyses of the company's finances and prepares reports to facilitate decision making.
• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of accounting policies, procedures, and practices to resolve complex accounting issues.
• Administer internal controls and audits of policies and procedures to preserve assets.
• Subject matter expert for acquisitions and due diligence/integration teams.
• Prepare and present materials for Audit Committee and senior leadership.
• Lead and direct the work of other employees and influence budgeting.
• Manage overall relationship with external auditors.
