Job summary

Creative Financial Staffing, LLC is assisting a construction client in identifying an Assistant Corporate Controller for a permanent role with a promotion track to Corporate Controller. The position leads daily accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal controls to ensure GAAP compliance and regulatory reporting.

The base salary ranges from $170,000 to $225,000 plus bonus, depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is required.
• CPA preferred; progressive accounting leadership experience.
• Construction/industrial services experience is ideal.

Responsibilities

• Review consolidated financial statements and management reports.
• Assist with ME/QE/YE close processes.
• Establish/maintain internal controls and accounting procedures.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and internal accounting policies.
• Assist with audits, tax preparation, and regulatory reporting.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis for leadership.
• Assist with cash flow management and forecasting.
• Oversee Accounting Managers and their teams (GL and AP).
• Mentor staff and lead process improvements.

Assistant Corporate Controller

Construction client has a newly created permanent opportunity for an Assistant Corporate Controller. The position is new with a promotion track to Corporate Controller. Company has projects nationally and is recognized as an industry leader in their sector. The Assistant Corporate Controller, reporting to the Corporate Controller, help lead the daily accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal controls. The role is responsible for GAAP compliance, tax requirements, regulations, and presenting financial insights to support strategic leadership decisions.

Approximate Base Salary of $170,000 – $225,000 + Bonus, depending on experience

Responsibilities of the Assistant Corporate Controller:

• Review consolidated financial statements and management reports
• Assist with ME/QE/YE close processes
• Establish/maintain internal controls and accounting procedures
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies
• Assist Controller, internal and external resources with audits, tax preparation, and regulatory reporting
• Assist the CFO and departments with budgeting, forecasting, and providing analysis
• Assist with cash flow management and forecasting
• Oversee Accounting Managers and their teams including GL and AP teams
• Mentor staff, providing leadership support
• Lead, evaluate and implement systems and process improvements

Ideal Experience for the Assistant Corporate Controller Role:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
• CPA preferred
• Progressive accounting experience, with strong examples of leading and mentoring teams
• Construction, engineering, industrial services, manufacturing or related industry experience
• WIP and job costing
• Strong systems experience, ERP Software
• Excellent presentation skills
