Job summary

CFS in Vernon Hills, IL seeks an Assistant Controller to oversee daily accounting operations and financial reporting. You will drive month-end close, support budgets and cash flow, and lead accounts payable while partnering on cross-team improvements.

The role emphasizes GAAP compliance and internal controls. With 7–12+ years of experience and CPA preferred, you will collaborate with executives and leverage CMiC for system enhancements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• 7–12+ years of progressive accounting experience (construction/job costing/WIP preferred).
• Strong knowledge of GAAP; CPA preferred.
• Experience with construction ERP systems (CMiC a plus).

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations and financial reporting.
• Support month-end/year-end close and review financial statements.
• Lead AP function and partner on process improvements across teams.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
• Maintain internal controls and ensure GAAP compliance.
• Support audits, tax preparation, and regulatory reporting.
