HANAC, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Cook to support the senior center kitchen at HANAC - Angelo Petromelis Older Adult Center.

Under the Head Cook and Program Director, you will prepare, cook, and serve nutritious meals to senior participants and staff while adhering to strict regulatory standards. In the absence of the Head Cook, you will take full responsibility for kitchen operations, ensuring high-quality meals, proper inventory control, and safe, compliant food service in a fast-paced

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalency required.
• Certification: NYC Food Protection Certificate / Food Handlers License required.
• Experience: Experience in commercial food service or large-quantity preparation; seniors experience preferred.

Responsabilités

• Coordinate preparation and timely service of lunch meals for 60–70 daily.
• Follow DOHMH and DFTA sanitation and safety standards.
• Maintain FIFO inventory and assist with ordering supplies.
• Supervise kitchen volunteers and assist Head Cook with schedules.
