Job summary

Silver Cliff Ranch Conference Center and Camp seeks an Assistant Cook to support daily meal prep, menu planning, and kitchen operations. You will mentor seasonal staff and lead kitchen tasks when the Dining Services Manager is away, serving guests from across the country in a fast-paced setting.

Requires 2+ years in culinary/kitchen roles, CFPM certification or willingness to obtain it, and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2 years+ experience running restaurants or school kitchens; sous chef preferred.
• CFPM certification or willingness to become certified.
• Stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Background check and drug screen required.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Meal Preparation & Menu Planning: assist with daily meal prep and design menus for groups.
• Special Dietary & Allergen Care: accommodate gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian and other restrictions with safety protocols.
• Kitchen Leadership: manage kitchen operations and direct staff as needed.
• Team Development: mentor seasonal and year-round staff in food prep and service.
• Sanitation & Facilities: maintain hygiene across kitchen and dining areas.
• Inventory & Operations: assist with inventory, ordering, and campus cleanups.
