Job summary

ECS4Kids (formerly Episcopal Children's Services) is hiring an Assistant Cook to support the preparation, transportation, and service of nutritious meals for Head Start children in Georgia, following USDA/CACFP guidelines and Head Start standards.

You will help maintain a clean kitchen, ensure on-time meal delivery, assist with inventory and documentation, and collaborate with staff to promote healthy eating in the classroom environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Meal Preparation & Service: assist in preparing and serving breakfast, lunch, and snacks per menus and USDA/CACFP requirements.
• Kitchen Operations & Sanitation: maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen areas and equipment, follow food safety procedures.
• Inventory & Ordering: help monitor food and supply inventory and receive deliveries.
• Documentation & Compliance: assist in submitting required documentation and review inspection reports.
• Food Transportation: safely transport prepared food between sites while preserving temperature and quality.
• Team Collaboration: coordinate with center staff and participate in trainings.
