Job summary

A venture investment firm in New York is seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to lead financial operations across fund structures. The ideal candidate will manage financial statements, audits, and investor reporting while ensuring compliance with partnership agreements. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting and a CPA are required, along with 3–5 years of relevant experience. This is a full-time role offering competitive benefits.

Qualifications

  • 3–5+ years of relevant experience, preferably in a senior fund finance role within venture capital or private funds.
  • Proven ability to interact with LPs, investors, and third-party providers in a clear and professional manner.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, analytical, and proactive; able to manage multiple workstreams and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage quarterly and annual financial statements, K-1s, and compliance filings.
  • Maintain fund-level accounting, including partner allocations and valuation processes.
  • Lead annual audits and manage tax preparation across the fund and management company entities.
  • Administer capital calls, distributions, and ongoing cash management.
  • Maintain internal financial databases and synthesize portfolio company data.
  • Assist with investor reporting and communicate with LPs.
  • Coordinate with legal, fund admins, auditors, and tax advisors.
