Job summary

Atlantic Group in New York seeks an Assistant Controller to work directly with the CFO, handling private credit fund accounting and management company accounting. This newly created role offers exposure to high-growth opportunities and significant visibility to senior leadership.

The position requires 4–6 years of accounting experience, strong GAAP knowledge, and advanced Excel skills. CPA preferred; private credit/private equity experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• 4–6 years of accounting experience.
• Public accounting or public/private blend preferred.
• Alternative investments experience (private credit, hedge funds, PE) preferred.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and investment accounting concepts.
• CPA preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Ability to work directly with senior leadership in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Support private credit fund accounting, investor reporting, and fund operations.
• Coordinate with fund administrators, auditors, and tax providers.
• Maintain loan accrual schedules and assist with portfolio valuation.
• Support capital calls, distributions, performance reporting, and portfolio tracking.
• Assist with monthly close, financial reporting, budgeting, and variance analysis.
• Manage cash forecasting and liquidity planning.
• Help improve accounting processes, internal controls, and reporting workflows.
• Partner with investment, compliance, investor relations, and operations teams on strategic initiatives.
