Job summary

CFS is seeking an Assistant Controller in Orlando to partner with the Controller, oversee accounting operations and financial reporting in a growing construction environment. The role leads monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, and drives improvements in processes and controls.

You will review statements, manage WIP, job costing, POC accounting, support audits, and mentor an accounting team as part of long-term career growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong construction accounting experience, including WIP, job costing, and POC accounting.
• Leadership, supervision, or management experience within accounting.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the Controller to oversee accounting operations and financial reporting
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
• Review financial statements, journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules
• Oversee WIP schedules, job costing, overbillings/underbillings, and POC accounting
• Support annual audits and serve as a key liaison with external auditors
• Drive process improvements, automation initiatives, budgeting, and forecasting efforts
