Job summary

Chadwick-BaRoss, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Controller to support the Controller in maintaining accurate financial reporting, close processes, and core accounting operations across our dealership network.

You will partner with the Accounting Manager and Financial Analyst, interact with senior leadership, and drive process improvements, internal controls, and financial integrity in a multi-location environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 4–7 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP.
• Experience with month-end close, journal entries, and reconciliations.
• Proficiency in ERP or dealership management systems (CDK, Procede, SAP, or similar).
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the preparation of accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with US GAAP.
• Assist with month-end close, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
• Partner with the Accounting Manager on AP, AR, and banking processes to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
• Support cash management, bank reconciliations, and financing-related activities.
• Assist with audit preparation and external reporting requirements.
• Maintain and improve internal controls and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
• Supervise and mentor the Staff Accountant, providing guidance and performance feedback.
• Collaborate with the Controller, CFO, and cross-functional teams on reporting, budgeting, and ad hoc projects.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements across accounting operations.
