Job summary

Related Companies is seeking an Assistant Controller to support accounting and financial reporting for its management companies, including RMC and RAM. The role reports to the Senior Controller, Corporate Accounting, and will oversee core accounting processes while guiding the accounting team and driving process improvements.

The position offers growth potential, with the opportunity to assume broader platform responsibilities over time.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• CPA required.
• Six or more years of relevant accounting experience.
• Public accounting experience preferred; Real estate or property management is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently with close attention to detail.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Clear written and verbal communication with senior leaders and partners.
• Experience supervising accounting staff.
• Knowledge of JD Edwards and HFM reporting software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage the accounting for RMC, RAM, and related operations.
• Ensure all transactions are recorded per GAAP and policies.
• Oversee day-to-day accounting activities and maintain internal controls.
• Review monthly and quarterly financial results, journal entries, reconciliations, and schedules.
• Analyze financial results and variances.
• Assist with consolidation and variance analyses for financial statements.
• Assist with external auditor engagements and annual audits.
• Participate in process and technology improvement initiatives.
• Provide guidance to accounting staff and mentor team members.
• Collaborate with leaders on accounting and reporting matters.
