Job summary

Frontier Development, a national real estate development and investment firm, seeks an Assistant Controller to manage day-to-day financial activity and reporting for a portfolio of commercial real estate assets and development projects.

You will prepare monthly and annual financial statements, establish internal controls, manage the general ledger, and deliver analyses for property-level and consolidated portfolios, while supporting budgeting and year-end close.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of the Real Estate industry.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment; multi-task effectively; maintain attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with good negotiation tactics.
• Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative.
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• Yardi experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
• At least three to five years of experience in accounting or finance within the commercial real estate industry.

Responsibilities

• Preparing monthly & annual financial statements for all individual operating properties
• Establishing and maintaining internal controls
• Managing all aspects of the general ledger
• Providing monthly and year-end analyses & reconciliation at the individual property and consolidated portfolio levels
• Assisting with the budget process for all development projects
• Researching accounting issues for compliance with generally accepted accounting principles
• Analyzing and reporting cost variances for recurring expenses across all properties
• Serving as a liaison to external tax preparers, preparing year-end reporting packages
