Job summary

American Battery Solutions in Lake Orion, MI seeks an Assistant Controller to partner with the Controller on accounting operations, including GL, AP/AR, financial reporting, and budgeting. You will help improve controls, drive process improvements, and ensure GAAP compliance while supporting audits and cross-functional collaboration across ABS and Komatsu.

The role emphasizes accuracy, timely month-end close, and strong Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of five years of progressive accounting experience including month-end close and financial statement prep.
• Experience with GAAP compliance and external audits preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare closing journal entries and reconciliations, research discrepancies, and correct issues.
• Assist in monthly financial statement prep: balance sheet, income statement, cash flow.
• Review financial statements for accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Own accounts receivable processes including invoicing and collections.
• Oversee accounts payable including vendor management and payments.
• Perform analysis on balance sheets and income statements.
• Support audits and prepare schedules and documentation.
