Job summary

Somic America seeks an experienced Assistant Controller to oversee accounting, financial reporting, cost accounting, and internal controls across two automotive components plants. You will manage month-end closes, inventory valuation, and standard costing while partnering with plant leadership to improve profitability.

The role requires 5–8+ years in accounting/finance, manufacturing experience, and strong ERP/GAAP knowledge.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
5–8+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience; manufacturing background preferred.
Experience with ERP systems in a manufacturing environment; SAP, Plex, Epicor, QAD, or Oracle familiarity.
Strong cost accounting, inventory accounting, and standard costing knowledge.
Proficiency in Excel and financial modeling.

Responsibilities

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
Manage month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analyses.
Oversee standard costing, BOMs, routings, and product costing.
Provide financial guidance to plant leadership and support budgets/forecasts.
Support audits, internal controls, and compliance initiatives.
