Leonardo DRS, Inc. Naval Electronics seeks an Assistant Controller to lead financial operations and deliver accurate reporting, controls, and compliance within a regulated manufacturing-government contracting environment.

The role supports forecasting, cost analysis, and continuous improvement while partnering with senior leadership and mentoring the finance team. Hybrid options available across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience.
• 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, GL management, and financial analysis.
• Understanding of government regulations and reporting requirements.
• Ability to analyze financial results and communicate insights to leadership.
• Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Experience supporting audits, compliance reviews, and external reporting requirements.

Responsibilities

• Support accounting operations, reporting, controls, and compliance for the business unit.
• Prepare and review financial statements quarterly and annually.
• Ensure GAAP and government reporting accuracy and timeliness.
• Develop, maintain, and improve accounting processes and procedures.
• Maintain general ledger, budgeting, cost allocation, and subsystems.
• Partner with leadership for forecasting and performance analysis.
• Review forecasts, trends, variances, and operating results.
• Conduct cost, ratio, and trend analyses to improve performance.
• Support external reporting and audit activities.
