Job summary

Leonardo DRS seeks a Principal Project Engineer to lead and manage complex programs in its Naval Electronics business. The role focuses on delivering on time and within budget while maintaining design compliance across multiple engineering disciplines.

The position requires a Master’s degree in engineering, 15+ years of experience, and U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain a DoD security clearance. Hybrid work and a robust benefits package are offered.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in engineering or related technical field with a minimum of 15 years of experience.
• High level of knowledge across multiple engineering disciplines to lead a project team.
• U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain DoD clearance within a reasonable time.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage engineering efforts for complex projects on time and budget.
• Provide budget, cost and schedule input for design/assignments.
• Communicate clearly with manufacturing, supply chain, program management and customers.
• Participate heavily in preparation of highly complex proposals.
• Coordinate technical activities and progress with management and teams.
• Attend engineering, customer or business meetings as required.
• Mentor and coach less experienced engineers.
• Other duties as assigned.
