Job summary

LHH in Indianapolis seeks an Assistant Controller to join its accounting leadership team, blending financial reporting, cost and operational accounting, and cross-functional business partnership. The role offers exposure to system enhancements, process improvements, and strategic finance initiatives while partnering with operations and executives.

Ideal candidates have 7+ years in corporate or manufacturing accounting, CPA/CMA, ERP experience, and a proven record of improving reporting accuracy

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience in corporate or manufacturing accounting.
• Experience in Senior Accountant, Accounting Manager, Assistant Controller, or related roles with increasing responsibility.
• Strong knowledge of month-end close, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and GL accounting.
• Experience supporting audits, internal controls, and compliance initiatives.
• Manufacturing experience preferred.
• ERP system experience required; exposure to system implementations or process improvement initiatives is a plus.
• CPA, CMA, or public accounting background preferred.
• Proven track record of improving processes, enhancing reporting accuracy, and driving operational efficiencies.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a continuous improvement mindset.

Responsibilities

• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
• Lead general ledger activities, account reconciliations, accruals, and financial reporting.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting.
• Partner with operations and leadership teams to improve financial visibility and decision-making.
• Support external audits, internal controls, and compliance activities.
• Drive process improvement initiatives and help optimize accounting workflows.
• Participate in ERP and systems-related projects.
• Mentor and provide leadership within the accounting function.
