Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking an Assistant Controller to own the accuracy and integrity of financial records under U.S. GAAP. You will lead staff accountants, drive monthly closes, and partner with the Controller as the business grows through new entities, properties, and acquisitions.

The role requires strategic thinking, process improvement, and effective cross‑functional collaboration with Operations and Treasury in a fast‑moving tech environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Close and control: manage daily/monthly close, general ledger, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Own technical accounting research, position memos, and policy for complex transactions (revenue recognition, leases, business combinations).
• Lead job cost, WIP, and project accounting; track costs vs budgets and surface variances.
• Maintain fixed assets and fleet accounting, depreciation, capitalization, and asset reporting.
• Prepare and present weekly/monthly financial reports, KPIs, dashboards, and variance analyses to leadership.
