Job summary

Canopy A&D is seeking an Assistant Controller in Irvine, CA to support the CFO in accounting and financial reporting while leading ERP initiatives and improving close cycles. The role emphasizes hands-on accounting, project leadership, and cross-functional collaboration in a fast-paced aerospace environment.

The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of accounting experience, GAAP expertise, and ERP/project management skills, with preference for Epicor proficiency and manufacturing knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Solid GAAP knowledge and financial reporting experience.
• Experience with month-end close, journal entries, and reconciliations.
• ERP implementation experience preferred, especially Epicor.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage accounting and finance projects in a fast-paced aerospace environment.
• Support ERP implementation, optimization, and ongoing development (Epicor preferred).
• Drive initiatives to shorten the month-end close and improve processes.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and management reporting.
• Coordinate close processes and intercompany accounting as needed.
• Develop and enhance accounting policies and internal controls.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve financial processes.
