Job summary

Canopy Aerospace & Defense in Irvine, CA is seeking an Assistant Controller to support the CFO in accounting and financial reporting, with a focus on ERP implementation, month-end close, and management reporting in a fast-paced aerospace environment.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance, 5+ years of experience, CPA (preferred), GAAP expertise, and strong project management skills, with ERP experience (Epicor) and the ability to collaborate across functions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent
• 5+ years progressive accounting experience
• Strong GAAP knowledge and analytical skills
• Experience managing projects in a fast-paced environment
• Experience with month-end close, financial statements, journal entries, reconciliations
• ERP implementation experience and process improvement

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage accounting and finance projects in a fast-paced environment
• Support ERP implementation and optimization (Epicor preferred)
• Lead ERP fast-follow initiatives to improve processes and controls
• Shorten the monthly close process and automate workflows
• Prepare monthly financial statements and management reporting
• Support quarter/year-end closes and intercompany accounting
• Develop and enhance accounting policies and internal controls
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve financial processes
• Coordinate with internal/external stakeholders for audits
