Job Description:
Are you interested in Construction Contract Administration and Inspection and have experience with large infrastructure projects? Do you have a successful track record working with Project Managers and Construction Managers to ensure infrastructure meets project requirements? Parsons is seeking an assistant with expertise in Construction Contract Administration and Inspection to collaborate with our Senior Project Team on large-scale infrastructure projects. In this role, you will:
- Provide inspection and administration of construction contracts on behalf of the owner/client, typically for government agencies or municipalities.
- Verify that construction complies with contract documents and specifications.
- Administer payments and resolve claims with contractors.
- Prepare financial and project status reports related to contract costs, funding, and contract volumes.
- Monitor work progress and update the owner accordingly.
- Resolve construction issues through RFIs, site instructions, and change orders.
- Oversee the Quality Assurance program and manage non-conformances.
- Supervise inspection and administration staff on the project.
Canadian Inspection Experience and Skills:
- Review and interpret archaeological, geotechnical, and environmental reports.
- Interpret drawings, specifications, and documentation.
- Resolve contract document conflicts and generate supplemental documentation.
- Provide revisions and support for field design drawings and sketches.
- Review construction plans, shop drawings, and submittals.
- Inspect work to ensure compliance with design, codes, standards, and authorities.
- Conduct construction meetings and review progress schedules.
- Coordinate work with contractors for efficient project completion.
- Review and process change requests and claims.
- Manage contractor payments and oversee testing and commissioning.
- Conduct inspections, generate reports, and maintain digital records.
- Coordinate project activities and communicate with all parties.
- Prepare progress reports and maintain quantity records.
- Participate in safety issue resolution.
Required Skills:
- Experience managing MMCD and CCDC contracts.
- Knowledge of construction law, statutes, and regulations such as WorksafeBC, Builder’s Lien Act, Building Code, MMCD Specs, MoTT and MoE Specs, and best practices.
- MMCD CCA Certification or eligibility.
- Degree or diploma in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related experience.
- Minimum 5 years in construction administration.
- Understanding of contract administration and applicable design standards.
- Proven analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and relevant software.
- G license required.
- Experience managing municipal and transportation engineering projects and leading inspection teams.
