Job summary

Midsouth Aggregates, part of CRH's South Division, is seeking an Assistant Controller to support financial management, accounting operations, and internal controls for the Aggregates group in the Southeastern U.S. The role partners with operations leaders to ensure timely financial reporting and strong financial controls across locations.

The Assistant Controller will lead month-end close, inventory and cost accounting, FP&A, audit support, and process improvements while developing a

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• Progressive accounting/finance experience including financial reporting, GL, month-end close, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls.
• Demonstrated knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
• Ability to translate data into actionable business insights.
• Experience partnering with operational leaders and leading teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end close, general ledger, inventory and cost accounting, FP&A, audit support, and process improvements.
• Provide financial oversight for aggregates operations including production, sales, and distribution.
• Review reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger activity.
• Support internal and external audits with documentation and timely resolutions.
• Partner with tax, legal, compliance, and other teams as needed.
• Develop and coach accounting team members and ensure adherence to controls.
