Job summary

CFS is seeking an Assistant Controller to lead month‑end and year‑end closes across multiple entities and deliver GAAP‑compliant financial reporting. You will partner with senior leaders, oversee journal entries and reconciliations, and provide actionable financial analysis to drive operational decisions.

The role emphasizes strengthening internal controls, process improvements, and collaboration with audit, tax, budgeting, and forecasting teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with leadership responsibility.
• GAAP-based financial reporting and analysis experience.
• Strong controls mindset and process improvement experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end and year-end close across multiple entities.
• Review journal entries, reconciliations, and schedules to GAAP statements.
• Provide financial analysis to operational leadership on P&L and balance sheet.
• Strengthen accounting policies, internal controls, and efficiencies.
• Support audit, tax, budgeting, forecasting, and regulatory reporting.
• Supervise and develop accounting team members.

Salary: $120,000 - $165,000 + discretionary bonus

Key Responsibilities For The Assistant Controller

• Lead month-end and year-end close activities across multiple entities and ensure accurate, timely financial reporting.
• Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules to maintain GAAP-compliant financial statements.
• Provide financial analysis and support to operational leadership on P&L, balance sheet, and other reporting needs.
• Strengthen accounting policies, internal controls, and process efficiencies across the organization.
• Support audit, tax, budgeting, forecasting, and regulatory reporting activities.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting team members while maintaining high accounting standards.

Qualifications For The Assistant Controller

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA strongly preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibility in an Assistant Controller or similar role.
• Experience within a high-volume construction environment is required.
• Strong ERP experience; NetSuite experience or NetSuite implementation exposure is a big plus.
