What You'll Be Doing as the Assistant Controller
- Support the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Review and prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and balance sheet analyses.
- Assist with preparation of internal and external financial statements and supporting schedules.
- Partner with accounting leadership to maintain compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
- Support cash management, fixed assets, intercompany accounting, and general ledger activities.
- Assist with external audits and coordinate requests from auditors and internal stakeholders.
- Review accounting processes and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and strengthen internal controls.
- Partner cross-functionally with Finance, FP&A, Treasury, Tax, and other business teams to support accounting initiatives.
- Assist with special projects, system implementations, and process improvement initiatives as needed.
- Provide leadership and guidance to accounting staff while helping ensure deadlines and reporting requirements are met.
About You as the Assistant Controller
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
- CPA designation is a plus.
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership or senior-level accounting responsibilities.
- Experience within investment management, financial services, asset management, banking, or other complex corporate accounting environments strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and month-end close processes.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience working with large ERP systems.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple departments.
