Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA preferred.
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience with public and corporate accounting experience.
  • Experience supervising accounting staff.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, audits, tax compliance, and internal controls.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations including AP/AR, fixed assets, and GL.
  • Lead monthly and year-end close processes with timely financial reporting.
  • Prepare and review monthly statements, variance analyses, and management reporting.
  • Support consolidated financial reporting across multiple entities and budgeting.

Assistant Controller (Confidential Company)
Overview

The Assistant Controller will report directly to the CFO and play a key role in overseeing daily accounting operations, financial reporting, compliance, budgeting, and team leadership. This position offers broad exposure across multiple entities and the opportunity to drive process improvements within a growing and dynamic organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, and General Ledger activities.
  • Lead monthly and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Prepare and review monthly financial statements, variance analyses, and management reporting.
  • Support consolidated financial reporting across multiple entities.
  • Assist with annual budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning.
  • Coordinate external audits, tax filings, and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable financial regulations.
  • Partner with leadership to provide financial insights and operational support.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff.
  • Participate in special projects and process improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA preferred.
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with a combination of public accounting and corporate accounting experience preferred.
  • Prior experience managing or supervising accounting staff.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, audits, tax compliance, and internal controls.
  • Sage Intacct experience highly preferred.
  • Nonprofit and/or foundation accounting experience preferred.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including large data set analysis, reporting, and complex formulas.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and attention to detail.
