Job summary

HCA Houston Healthcare in Stafford, TX is seeking an Assistant Controller to support the financial and operational activities of Physician Services and leadership teams. The role focuses on financial projections, budgeting, and policy development to sustain high-quality patient care.

The Assistant Controller will work with physicians, division leadership, and Hospital CFOs to deliver timely financial insights, reports, and compliance supporting strategic goals in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or other business-related field is required.
• CPA license highly preferred.
• Five years progressive accounting/financial experience, including three years of supervisory experience.
• Preferably, three years in a physician practice management or healthcare-related environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist Controller with completion of financial reports to meet deadlines.
• Assist the Controller with development of standard financial data sets.
• Prepare reports that summarize and forecast business activity and financial position.
• Conduct physician contract reviews to validate all payments.
• Provide leadership with timely reviews of financial status and program progress.
• Assist with monthly reports for key indicators and regulatory returns.

Job Summary And Qualifications

As an Assistant Controller you will interact with Physician Services financial management and HCA Division leadership regarding financial and operational activities as needed. You will provide assistance with financial and operational activities including financial projections and reporting, practice evaluations, economic strategies, budgeting, policy support and development.

What you will do in this role

• You will assist the Controller with completion of financial reports to meet specified deadlines.
• Assist the Controller with development of standard financial data sets.
• You will prepare various reports that summarize and forecast business activity and financial position.
• Conduct physician contract reviews to validate all payments.
• You will provide management (to include Physician Services leadership, Division leadership, and Hospital CFO's) with timely reviews of organization's financial status and progress in its various programs and activities.
• Assist with review monthly reports for key indicators and statistics.
• Assist as needed with monthly reports or returns required by regulatory agencies.

What qualifications you will need

• Bachelor of Arts or Science Degree in accounting or other business-related field.
• CPA license highly preferred.
• Five years of progressive accounting/financial experience, including three years of supervisory experience.
• Preferably, three years in a physician practice management or healthcare-related environment.
