Job description

Century Group is partnering with a client that is seeking an Assistant Controller to join their team. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting base salary of $140,000 to $160,000 per year.

Job Responsibilities

• Oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, and month end, quarter end, and year end close activities to ensure accurate and timely financial results.
• Manage audit preparation, compliance initiatives, and financial governance processes while maintaining strong internal controls.
• Lead treasury and cash management activities, including liquidity monitoring, banking relationships, and cash flow oversight.
• Partner with finance, operations, technology, and executive leadership teams to improve reporting quality and support strategic business initiatives.
• Drive process improvement, automation, system optimization, and organizational growth initiatives to enhance scalability and efficiency.

Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership or management responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, internal controls, and accounting operations.
• Prior experience managing audits, financial close processes, treasury functions, and compliance activities.
• Advanced proficiency with ERP systems, financial reporting tools, and Microsoft Excel.

Qualifications

• CPA designation preferred.
• Previous experience within management services organization, or multi entity accounting experience.
• Strong analytical, problem solving, and decision making abilities with the capacity to manage complex financial matters.
• Proven leadership skills with experience mentoring teams, supporting workforce development, and fostering accountability.
• Excellent communication and project management skills with a demonstrated ability to lead process improvements, automation initiatives, and cross functional collaborations.
