Job summary

Century Group is partnering with a client to recruit an Accounting Manager in California. The role will oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes and ensure timely financial reporting. Exact compensation depends on skills and location, with a starting base salary of $150,000 to $165,000 per year.

You will lead audits, strengthen internal controls, and drive ERP-driven process improvements. CPA/CMA preferred; 5+ years of progressive accounting experience required.

Qualifications

• Strong GAAP knowledge and month-end close experience.
• Advanced Excel and ERP experience.

Job Responsibilities

• Oversee month end, quarter end, and year end close activities while ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Prepare and review financial statements, management reports, and accounting analyses to support business decision making.
• Maintain and strengthen internal controls, accounting procedures, and compliance practices to support financial integrity.
• Coordinate audit activities, tax reporting requirements, and relationships with external advisors and service providers.
• Lead process improvement initiatives, system enhancements, and automation projects to improve efficiency and scalability.

Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with increasing levels of responsibility.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, general ledger accounting, and month end close processes.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience working with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
• Ability to analyze financial data, manage multiple entities, and support complex accounting operations.

Qualifications

• CPA or CMA credential preferred.
• Previous experience with mergers and acquisitions, technical accounting matters, or complex financial transactions.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to explain financial results and business trends clearly.
• Proven success implementing process improvements, system enhancements, and operational efficiencies.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities with the capacity to collaborate effectively across departments and with senior management.
