A well-established, employee-owned company in the asset management and professional services sector is seeking a detail-oriented Assistant Controller to join its finance team. This Omaha-based role supports multiple business lines by ensuring accurate financial reporting and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee daily cash activity, wire transfers, and account monitoring

Manage core accounting functions: A/R, A/P, payroll, and purchasing

Maintain fixed asset records and ensure proper capitalization/depreciation

Support month-end close and financial statement preparation

Ensure tax compliance and regulatory reporting (e.g., sales tax, payroll)

Assist with annual audits and internal controls

Lead variance analysis and budget monitoring

Supervise and develop a small finance team (2–5 direct reports)

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

CPA required

5+ years of accounting experience, including supervisory roles

Strong knowledge of GAAP and tax regulations

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, EnterpriseOne)
