A Private Equity Investment firm is seeking an experienced professional to join their team as an Assistant Controller. This role will follow a hybrid schedule.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor both onshore and offshore teams, providing ongoing development opportunities to foster professional growth and ensuring offshore staff are effectively integrated and empowered as core team members.
• Identify, research, and propose process and reporting improvements for review with senior leadership and technology teams; support the validation and implementation of system enhancements.
• Participate in investment monitoring and performance analysis; serve as a key point of contact for investment and origination professionals to address complex inquiries.
• Oversee the review and approval of quarterly financial, compliance, and investor reports for assigned funds, ensuring alignment with fund governing documents, GAAP, credit facility agreements, and SEC requirements.
• Support Controllers in applying appropriate accounting treatments by researching new and proposed accounting standards.
• Perform other duties, as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting required.
• 10–15 years of relevant experience in alternative investments, either within private industry (e.g., hedge funds, private equity, banking, fund administration) or public accounting.
• CPA designation strongly preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of financial reporting for Investment Companies is essential.
• Preferred experience includes exposure to distressed debt, credit instruments, foreign investments, and originated loans.
• Familiarity with portfolio accounting systems such as Investran and/or Virtual Portfolio Manager (VPM) is a plus.
