Job summary

S+H Search is seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to join its finance leadership team in a hands-on role supporting financial operations, reporting, and process improvements in a manufacturing environment.

The ideal candidate will oversee daily accounting operations, assist with ERP enhancements, and guide cost, inventory, and fixed asset accounting while collaborating with operations and leadership to drive business growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Five+ years of progressive accounting experience, including manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of cost accounting, inventory, fixed assets, and financial reporting.
• Experience with ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal controls.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process.
• Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Maintain the integrity of the general ledger, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Oversee cost accounting, inventory accounting, and variance analysis.
• Partner with operations to improve costing, inventory controls, and manufacturing reporting.
• Manage fixed asset accounting, including capitalization, depreciation, and reconciliations.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis for leadership.
• Assist with acquisition integrations, including financial reporting alignment and system transitions.
• Maintain and strengthen internal controls while supporting internal and external audits.
• Help optimize ERP systems and accounting processes to improve efficiency and reporting accuracy.
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff while fostering a collaborative team environment.
• Partner cross-functionally with operations and other departments to support strategic business objectives.
