Job summary

Emerald Resource Group in the Greater Cleveland area is seeking an experienced accounting professional who will own the accounting function end to end and sit close to leadership. This hands-on role requires drive to scale the business and keep the financial engine running cleanly.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum 7 years of hands-on accounting experience.
• Strong Excel proficiency.
• MRI software experience is a plus.
• Ability to communicate clearly with leadership.

Responsibilities

• Own the month-end close from start to finish, including account reconciliations and financial reporting.
• Manage accounts payable, from weekly check runs to vendor inquiries.
• Manage accounts receivable, including cash application review and collections.
• Run banking and cash: forecasting, bank reconciliations, and loan covenant reporting.
• Manage fixed assets: monthly depreciation, project spending analysis, and reconciliations.
• Handle taxes: property tax, sales and use tax, and 1099 processing.
• Follow established accounting processes and recommend improvements where you spot them.
• Serve as the key liaison with external auditors.
• Support the broader team on other accounting priorities as they come up.
