Assistant Controller (Base Salary Range: $130,000 - $140,000)

LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking an Assistant Controller for a well-established manufacturing company based in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. This role offers broad exposure to the organization and executive leadership. The position will support the Corporate Controller and oversee the day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with regulatory standards.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and support AR, AP, and payroll functions, while mentoring accounting team members.
• Partner with teams on budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning efforts.
• Prepare financial reports and dashboards with insights and trend analysis.
• Maintain GAAP compliance by updating accounting policies and the chart of accounts.
• Coordinate audits and perform internal reviews to ensure financial accuracy.
• Manage sales and use tax filings and ensure timely compliance.
• Drive process improvements and automation to boost efficiency.
• Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close, including reconciliations and fixed assets.
• Stay current on accounting standards and regulatory updates.
• Evaluate accounting operations and implement workflow enhancements.

Client Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required
• An MBA or parts passed of CPA required
• At least six years of accounting experience, ideally with time spent in public accounting (Big 4 or large second-tier firm)
• Inventory accounting experience is required
