What You'll Be Doing…

The Assistant Controller will play a key role in overseeing financial reporting and fund accounting activities across client portfolios, with a focus on ensuring accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency. This position is responsible for managing the preparation of financial statements, supporting the Controller with financial analysis, and contributing to budgeting and internal control processes. The role also involves supervising Senior Accountants and collaborating closely with portfolio managers in real estate and private equity, as well as operations and accounting teams across the organization.

  • Review and validate investment performance metrics, including the calculation of performance-based fees, transaction-related earnings, and other fund-level economics.
  • Monitor fund and entity-level cash balances, coordinating the timely release of surplus funds in line with governing agreements and investor terms.
  • Portfolio and Asset Management for all accounting related matters
  • Coordination, preparation, and timely completion of all audit reports and tax returns for portfolios.
  • Acquisition and disposition of portfolio investments
  • Managing and mentoring senior-level accounting staff

What We’re Looking For….

  • Minimum of 6–7+ years of relevant experience, with a strong preference for candidates with a background in real estate, private equity or joint venture accounting.
  • Will consider Big 4/Public Accounting with relevant client experience in real estate, PE or joint partnership accounting.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
  • CPA
  • Strong leadership skills with a focus on team management and collaboration
