Job summary

TMG Construction Corp in Leesburg, VA seeks an Assistant Project Manager to manage cradle-to-grave life-cycle of small commercial and/or institutional design/build projects or support larger initiatives. The role covers IDIQ, Lump-Sum, Design/Build and Fast Track contracts; work is largely contractor-driven through subcontractors, with potential self-performed activities.

Qualifications

• Requires a B.S. in Engineering or Construction Management with 2-3 years of experience with a commercial/industrial GC, or 5 years with no degree.
• Civil estimating and contracting experience with a civil GC or subcontractor.
• IDIQ contracting experience preferred.
• Demonstrated experience in estimating and managing self-performed work.
• Understanding of renovation methods for commercial/institutional buildings and site work.

Responsibilities

• Create, update and maintain project controls and schedules.
• Review shop drawings and submittals with vendors and clients.
• Manage change orders, pricing and proposals as part of change management.
• Assist estimating with quantity surveys using digitizers and 3D modeling.
• Establish, monitor and communicate project schedules using scheduling software.
• Support layout and spatial coordination with CAD to ensure components fit together.
• Negotiate contracts, subcontracts and purchase orders.
• Produce reports using TM G Project Center, USACE tools, Prolog, etc.
• Identify issues early and facilitate solutions.
• Ensure compliance with contract terms, safety and quality standards.
