Job summary

SOLV Energy, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Commissioning Manager to lead testing and commissioning activities for HV, BESS and PV projects. You will collaborate with the Commissioning Manager and SMEs to ensure systems are installed, tested, and commissioned to project requirements and safety standards.

The role is on-site in the Midwest with travel, coordinating across engineering, construction, and QA teams to deliver high-quality, fully operable renewable assets and a smooth project closeout.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of testing and commissioning on utility-scale electrical systems.
• Strong knowledge of electrical power systems, inverters, transformers, and electrical infrastructure.
• Proven experience managing project teams and coordinating with multiple stakeholders.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the project commissioning team, providing guidance and support for efficient task execution.
• Report daily on project status to the Commissioning Manager.
• Develop and review commissioning plans, procedures, and milestone deliverables.
• Coordinate with OEM suppliers on equipment testing and commissioning activities.
• Align with engineering, construction, and QA teams to synchronize commissioning efforts.
• Develop integrated testing schedules and update weekly.
• Create commissioning resource plans and ensure availability.
• Review energization procedures and participate in switching activities as needed.
• Identify corrective actions for issues during commissioning and operation.
• Contribute to standards and process improvements; maintain lessons learned logs.
• Ensure all commissioning activities meet safety and environmental regulations.
• Prepare detailed daily commissioning reports and track test results and actions.
