Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking an Assistant Commissioning Manager to lead testing and commissioning across HV, BESS, and PV projects. The role requires on-site work in the Midwest with travel, coordinating with engineers, construction, and QA to ensure safety, quality, and operability of renewable energy assets.

You will develop commissioning plans, manage scheduling, and oversee energization activities, driving reliable performance from project kickoff through completion.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of testing and commissioning on utility-scale electrical systems.
• Experience leading commissioning teams and coordinating with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Familiarity with NFPA/NEC standards and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Manage the project commissioning team, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure efficient and effective execution of tasks.
• Report daily to the Commissioning Manager, the status of each project assigned.
• Review requirements and assist with development of commissioning plans, procedures, and schedules.
• Coordinate with OEM suppliers on equipment testing and commissioning activities.
• Develop integrated test and commissioning schedules and update weekly.
• Review energization procedures and assist with switching activities during commissioning.
• Prepare and maintain daily commissioning reports, documenting issues and corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental regulations.
• Support continuous improvement of commissioning processes and lessons learned.
