Job summary

Paterson Public Schools is seeking qualified coaches for the winter sports season (Dec 1, 2026 – Feb 22, 2027). Must hold a New Jersey Teacher's or Substitute Teacher Certificate and be CPR/AED certified, with annual renewals for concussion and heat wellness certificates.

Coaching experience is preferred; availability daily during winter and potential Sports First Aid coursework within one year of hire. Open for ten days after posting date.

Qualifications

• NJ Teacher's or Substitute Teacher certificate required.
• CPR and AED certification current.
• Concussion Awareness and Wellness certificate renewed annually.
• Heat Acclimatization Awareness and Wellness certificate renewed annually.
• All new coaches have one year to complete Sports First Aid.
• Subject to budget and district requirements.

Job description

Qualifications

• New Jersey Teacher's Certificate OR Substitute Teacher Certificate; proof of experience required for substitute certificate holder
• Coaching experience preferred, but not required
• Must be available daily during the WINTER sports season
• Must be certified in CPR and AED, and holding a current certificate in both
• Must obtain a "Concussion Awareness and Wellness" certificate or its equivalent, renewed annually
• Must Obtain a "Heat Acclimatization Awareness and Wellness" certificate or it's equivalent, renewed annually.
• All new coaches will have one year after being hired to successfully complete a course in "Sports First Aid".
• Meet such alternatives to above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable
• Pending budget availability
• All posting are open for ten (10) consecutive days following the date posted on the Paterson Public Schools website
