Job summary

Paterson Public Schools is seeking two Assistant Coaches for Indoor Track (Boys & Girls) for the 2026-2027 winter season. Responsibilities include supporting team practices and meets at school facilities in Paterson.

Applicants must hold a New Jersey Teacher's Certificate or Substitute Teacher Certificate, with proof of experience if using the substitute credential. CPR/AED and Concussion & Heat acclimatization certifications are required, renewed annually, and one year to complete Sports First

Qualifications

• New Jersey Teacher's Certificate OR Substitute Teacher Certificate; proof of experience required for substitute certificate holder
• Coaching experience preferred, but not required
• Must be available daily during the WINTER sports season
• Must be certified in CPR and AED, and holding a current certificate in both
• Must obtain a "Concussion Awareness and Wellness" certificate or its equivalent, renewed annually
• Must Obtain a "Heat Acclimatization Awareness and Wellness" certificate or it's equivalent, renewed annually.
• All new coaches will have one year after being hired to successfully complete a course in "Sports First Aid"
• Meet such alternatives to above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable
• Pending budget availability
• All posting are open for ten (10) consecutive days following the date posted on the Paterson Public Schools website
