About the Opportunity

JOB SUMMARY: The Assistant Coach position supports the varsity athletics program at Northeastern University, reporting to the Head Coach. This role is responsible for assisting with practice and game-day decisions, player skill development, and administrative duties as assigned. The Assistant Coach plays a key role in identifying, evaluating, and cultivating prospective student-athletes from across the country while upholding all Conference and NCAA regulations. This position requires availability to travel and work evenings and weekends as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE
  • Assist the Head Coach with practice and game-day decisions, developing training drills for player skill development and leading positional portions of practice.
  • Scout opponents and provide analysis to support competitive preparation.
  • Identify, evaluate, and cultivate prospective student-athletes from throughout the country in accordance with Conference and NCAA regulations.
  • Attend departmental meetings, programs, and clinics.
  • Assist with fund-raising efforts as needed.
  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned by the Head Coach.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of coaching experience required, preferably at a Division I program.
  • Collegiate playing experience preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of recruiting practices and understanding of Conference and NCAA regulations.
  • Previous experience with budgeting procedures and strong communication and management skills required.

Compensation Grade/Pay Type: 110S Expected Hiring Range: $76,335.00 - $107,823.75 With the pay range(s) shown above, the starting salary will depend on several factors, which may include your education, experience, location, knowledge and expertise, and skills as well as a pay comparison to similarly-situated employees already in the role.
