Job summary

Northeastern University in Boston is seeking an Instructional Assistant to support teachers with in-classroom, 1-1 student assistance, and help with daily activities and behavior management.

The role is temporary and pays $17.50 per hour. Benefits include medical, vision, dental, paid time off, tuition assistance, wellness, retirement, and commuter benefits. All qualified applicants will be considered without regard to protected characteristics.

Responsibilities

• Daily Classroom Support: assist teachers in the classroom and provide 1-1 support for students.
• Distribute materials and support behavioral management as needed.
• Assist with weekly field trips and carry out assigned roles.
• Lunchtime support: escort students to lunch and monitor lunchroom behavior.
• Attend weekly staff meetings.

About the Opportunity

The Instructional Assistants’ roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Daily Classroom Support: Providing support to teachers in the classroom with 1-1support for students, distributing materials, behavioral support as needed and any additional support a teacher may need
• Supporting weekly with field trips: Carrying out set roles and responsibilities as assigned by the Recreational Coordinator.
• Lunchtime Support: Walking students over to Smith Hall for daily lunch, monitoring lunchroom behaviors, walking students back.
• Support with Daily Sports- Actively participating in sports with students as assigned by the Recreation Coordinator; walk with students to and from the various facilities.
• Attend Weekly Staff Meetings
