  • Occasionally help with student-athlete recruitment

About the Job

UMD Intercollegiate Athletics is searching for a part-time Assistant Throws Coach for the Men and Women's Track and Field Program. This position will focus on developing strength and technique of the throwers. The position begins October 5, 2026 through May 16, 2027, earning a stipend of approximately $3,060. Scope of Position The incumbent will assist the Head Coach with developing and maintaining a Division II Track and Field program in a manner compatible with the department and University philosophy. The incumbent must have knowledge of current eligibility rules and regulations and adheres to all appropriate conference rules and regulations, NCAA, and Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.

  • Support student athletes by promoting mental health awareness to foster positive team culture.
  • Assist with establishing and maintaining effective relationships.
  • Write and implement programing for the throws program including shot put, weight throw, discus, hammer throw, and javelin
  • Attend practice and meets which may require availability on nights and weekends

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $3,060 stipend.
