Job summary

Milford High School in Milford, DE seeks an Assistant Coach for Baseball to support the head coach and develop student-athletes both on and off the field.

You will collaborate on practice plans, contribute to strategy, and promote sportsmanship while adhering to district policies and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Demonstrate proficiency in baseball.
• Possess sound moral character.
• Demonstrate understanding of the relationship of the program to the athlete and school.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with head coach to plan and implement organized daily practice plans.
• Suggest adaptations to coaching techniques and game plans.
• Promote positive relations with parents and the community.
• Foster sportsmanship and athlete conduct.
• Assist in game preparation, strategy, and player motivation.
• Comply with HAC, DIAA, and school policies.
• Communicate pre/post and in-season information to players, parents, and staff.
• Maintain inventory of equipment and uniforms.
• Monitor and evaluate athletes' academic performance.
• Assist in equipment and supply purchases.
• Help oversee safety of facilities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Assistant Coach Baseball

Location: Milford High School

Reports To: Principal & Athletic Director

Starting Date: March 2027 following the DIAA Schedule

Qualifications

• Minimum 21 years of age.
• Demonstrate a proficiency in the sport.
• Possess sound moral character.
• Demonstrate an understanding of the relationship of the program to the athlete, total athletic program and the total school program.

Performance Responsibilities

• Works collaboratively with head coach to plans and implement organized daily practice plans
• Suggests adaptations and modifications to coaching techniques, strategies and game plans.
• Promotes and maintains positive public relations with parents and the community.
• Helps to provide an atmosphere conducive to good sportsmanship and player conduct.
• Supports in preparation for each game in strategy and player motivation.
• Complies with all HAC, DIAA, and school district policies
• Aids in communication of pre, post and in season information to players, parents, and school officials.
• Helps to maintain and inventory all equipment and uniforms.
• Monitors and evaluates academic performance of all athletes.
• Assists in recommending purchase of equipment, supplies, and uniforms.
• Assists in overseeing the safety of the facility or area in which assigned sport is conducted.
• Performs other duties as assigned that relate to this position.

Evaluation:Performance will be evaluated annually in accordance with the Board's policy on evaluation of professional personnel.
