Join Delaware Schools Consortium is seeking Athletics Event Coordinators for the Fall 2026 through Spring 2027 season at Milford Secondary School Campus. This one-year limited contract covers three DIAA seasons and reports to Building Principals & Athletic Director. Starting Date is August 2026.

The role emphasizes event operations, facilities prep, game-day logistics, safety and compliance, and collaboration with coaches and staff. Evening and weekend hours are required as schedules demand.

Qualifications

  • Prior coaching, athletic participation, event management, or related experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities during athletic events.
  • Demonstrated professionalism and sound judgment when interacting with students, staff, parents, officials, and spectators.
  • Familiarity with DIAA rules and regulations preferred or willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work evenings and occasional weekends based on the athletic schedule.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Athletic Director with the supervision and operation of assigned home athletic contests.
  • Help ensure athletic facilities are prepared before contests and secured following events.
  • Assist with game-day logistics, including coordinating with game workers, ticket personnel, security, and officials.
  • Help identify and communicate operational issues to the Athletic Director or designated administrator.
  • Provide support during tournaments, special events, and postseason contests as assigned.
  • Work collaboratively with the Athletic Director and coaching staff to support successful athletic events.
  • Assist with coordinating event personnel when requested.
  • Help ensure contest schedules and operational needs are communicated effectively.
  • Provide limited event support for practices or special activities when requested by the Athletic Director.
  • Assist in promoting compliance with district policies and DIAA regulations during assigned events.
  • Help maintain a safe, organized, and positive environment for participants and spectators.
  • Notify the Athletic Director or administrator of any safety concerns, facility issues, or incidents requiring attention.
  • Support sportsmanship expectations and assist with addressing spectator concerns when appropriate.
  • Maintain professional communication with coaches, officials, game workers, and school personnel.
  • Serve as an event resource for visitors and participants during assigned contests.
  • Assist with distributing event information and communicating operational updates.
  • Assist with setting up and breaking down athletic venues for contests.
  • Help monitor the proper use and storage of athletic equipment.
  • Report maintenance or facility concerns promptly to the Athletic Director.
  • Attend athletic department meetings as requested.
  • Participate in required training related to athletics, safety, or event operations.
  • Perform other athletics-related duties as assigned by the Athletic Director that are consistent with the scope of this supplemental position.
  • This is a supplemental stipend position intended to provide operational support for the Athletic Department. Assignments will vary throughout the school year based on athletic schedules, seasonal demands, and department needs. The Athletic Event Coordinator is expected to work a reasonable number of evenings and occasional weekends but is not expected to attend every athletic contest or function.

Position Expectations

This is a supplemental stipend position intended to provide operational support for the Athletic Department. Assignments will vary throughout the school year based on athletic schedules, seasonal demands, and department needs. The Athletic Event Coordinator is expected to work a reasonable number of evenings and occasional weekends but is not expected to attend every athletic contest or function.

Terms of Employment: One year limited contract covering three DIAA athletic seasons (Fall, Winter, Spring), in accordance with Milford School District policy 4309 D.

Salary and Benefits: Salary per the Milford School Board Policy and collective bargaining agreement. Limited Contract compensation payment schedule: Category A stipend for one year term (three DIAA Seasons, $3,500.00 total stipend).

Evaluation:Performance will be evaluated annually in accordance with the Board's policy on evaluation of professional personnel.
