Job summary

Milford School District is seeking an Assistant Coach for Softball at Milford High School. This role starts March 2027 following the DIAA schedule and reports to the Principal & Athletic Director.

Candidates must be at least 21, demonstrate proficiency in softball, and uphold strong character within a team-oriented athletic program. Responsibilities include planning daily practices with the head coach, game strategy support, maintaining equipment, and ensuring player academics and safety.

Qualifications

• Possess sound moral character.
• Understand the relationship of the program to the athlete, total athletic program and the total school program.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement organized daily practice plans with head coach.
• Suggest adaptations and modifications to coaching techniques, strategies and game plans.
• Promote and maintain positive public relations with parents and the community.
• Help to provide an atmosphere conducive to good sportsmanship and player conduct.
• Support in preparation for each game in strategy and player motivation.
• Comply with all HAC, DIAA, and school district policies.
• Aid in communication of pre, post and in season information to players, parents, and school officials.
• Help to maintain and inventory all equipment and uniforms.
• Monitor and evaluate academic performance of all athletes.
• Assist in recommending purchase of equipment, supplies, and uniforms.
• Assist in overseeing the safety of the facility or area in which assigned sport is conducted.
• Performs other duties as assigned that relate to this position.

EvaluationPerformance will be evaluated annually in accordance with the Board's policy on evaluation of professional personnel.
