Job summary

The College of Lake County seeks a Laboratory Specialist for the Automotive Technology program at the Grayslake Campus. The role monitors the use of automotive labs, maintains records of supplies, ensures proper tool and equipment use, and assists students and faculty with the equipment.

This is a grant-funded, non-teaching position offering 19 hours per week with a flexible schedule. The College provides benefits to eligible part-time staff and a supportive work environment.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Job Summary: The Laboratory Specialist is responsible for monitoring the use of the Automotive labs, maintaining records of supplies purchased for the labs, ensuring proper use of tools and equipment, and assisting students and faculty in the use of the equipment. *This is a grant funded position; continued employment in this position is based on external funding sources. Note: This is a non-teaching position.

Pay: $17.73/hour

Fall schedule: Flexibility to work 19 hours per week between 8am - 10:30pm Monday - Friday.

Part-time flex employees are not eligible to participate in certain benefit offerings at the College, including tuition reimbursement, tuition waiver, or health insurance. Part-time flex employees will be eligible for paid time off dependent on scheduled hours.
